Enchanted Rose

This rose display was a project for a birthday gift. The base was carved of maple and stained with rosewood. The twinkling lights surrounding the rose creating the “falling light” effect were created using a simple running lights circuit with just a few resisters, capacitors, transistors, and LEDs. There are four 0.01″ fiber optic cables for each of the three LEDs. There is also a battery compartment with 4 AAs, and a switch that faces down so that it can easily be turned on and off by rotating the base. At the end of each of the fiber optics is a tiny brilliant cut diamond.
